How we handle your information.
We are a small volunteer club. We collect very little, we never sell it, and we will tell you plainly what we do with it.

The short version
- This website does not use advertising, analytics or tracking tools, and it does not set cookies on your browser.
- We do not sell, rent or trade anyone’s information.
- If you email us, call us or apply to join, we use what you share to reply to you and to run the club. That is all.
1. Who we are
The Rotary Club of Southeast Raleigh (“the club,” “we” or “us”) is a volunteer service club in Raleigh, North Carolina, founded in March 2020. We are a member club of Rotary International and part of Rotary District 7710. This website, serrotary.org, is run by our club. It is not run by Rotary International, The Rotary Foundation or the district.
2. What we collect, and how
What happens automatically when you visit
Like every website, ours is delivered by a web host (Hostinger). When you load a page, the host’s servers receive your IP address, the type of browser and device you are using, the page you asked for, and the date and time. Standard server records like these keep the site running and help protect it from attacks. We do not use them to identify visitors or to build profiles of anyone.
Cookies
Our website does not set cookies for visitors. WordPress, the software that runs the site, sets cookies only for the club volunteers who sign in to manage it.
Fonts, maps and other outside services
The typeface on this site is hosted on our own server, and the pages do not load anything from other companies’ servers, such as ads, analytics, social media buttons, videos or maps. That means your browser does not contact Google, Facebook or any other outside service just because you opened one of our pages. If we ever add something like that, we will update this policy first.
What you tell us directly
This website has no forms. If you email us at seraleighrotary@gmail.com, call us or write to our PO Box, we receive what you choose to send: usually your name, your contact details and your message. Our club email account is hosted by Google, so email you send us is stored there.
Applying for membership
Our membership application is not on this website. The “Apply for membership” button takes you to ismyrotaryclub.org, a club-management service that Rotary clubs use. What you enter there goes to that service and to our club, and is handled under that service’s own privacy policy. If you join, we share basic membership details, such as your name, contact information and club role, with Rotary International and Rotary District 7710 so you can be recorded as a member.
Photos and stories
We take photos at our service projects and meetings and may share them on this site and our social media pages. We ask people before featuring them in a way that makes them easy to recognize, and we ask a parent or guardian first for anyone under 18. Some photos on this site are licensed stock images shown for illustration; they do not show club members. If you would like a photo of you or your child removed, email us and we will take it down promptly.
3. How we use information
- To reply to your questions and invite you to meetings and events.
- To process membership applications and keep the club’s membership records.
- To organize volunteers, projects and events, and to keep members up to date on club business.
- To keep the website running and secure.
- To meet legal requirements and the record-keeping requirements of Rotary International.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not make decisions about you with automated tools.
4. Who we share it with
Only as much as needed, and only with:
- Rotary International and Rotary District 7710, for membership records, as described above.
- Service providers that help us run the club and this site, such as our web host (Hostinger), our email provider (Google) and ismyrotaryclub.org.
- Authorities, when the law requires it or when it is needed to protect someone’s safety.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.
5. How long we keep it
We keep emails and membership records only as long as we need them for the purposes above or to meet Rotary’s record-keeping requirements. After that we delete them. Our web host keeps server records on its own schedule.
6. Keeping information safe
This website is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and only authorized club volunteers can sign in to manage it. No website or email system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we take care with what we hold and keep it to a minimum.
7. Children
This website does not ask for personal information from anyone, including children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through it. Our youth programs follow Rotary International’s youth protection policies. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, tell us and we will delete it.
8. Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or ask us to stop emailing you. Write to us using the contact details below and we will respond within 30 days. Because this website does not track visitors, there is nothing to opt out of here.
9. Links to other websites
This site links to other websites, including Rotary International and ismyrotaryclub.org. Those sites have their own privacy practices. Rotary International’s privacy policy explains how it handles information on its own sites and for Rotary membership records.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top. Please check back from time to time.
